Tacca shantrieri thrives in a bright place, does not tolerate direct sunlight or draft. The medium must be water-permeable and still moisture-retaining. Needs enough heat and high humidity to feel comfortable. The soil is kept evenly moist, but not too wet. Fertilize with orchid fertilizer, for example, about every other week. It prefers to spend the winter in a cool place, 15-18 degrees. Irrigation is reduced for the winter. During the dormant period, the plant is not fertilized. Tacca shantrieri thrives in a loose pot and should be replanted annually in the spring after the dormant period.
